Today we spent some quality chill time in the alpine. Our camp at Marian Lake starts at 1900m altitude. We skirted the W edge of Marian Lk and headed up to an alpine tarn at 2350m. From there Trev and I continued sans bikes on to Battlement Ridge by scree slope and gawked at views. Unfortunately it seems that Warner/Battlement/Feo/Rae Spur all attract weather and storms rolled in.
We retreated to camp under photogenic skies and after the skies cleared enjoyed more quality chill time.
Started sunny from Marian Lake
You can never use too much fisheye
Tallboying the Alpine
What’s this? More hike-a-bike
Wildflowers in full glory
Into the alpine as we close on Battlement Ridge
Alpine tarn fisheye
Ups a daisy to Battlement Ridge at 2450
Tosh, Dorrie Peak, Iron Pass and in the background Warner Ridge and Mt Warner peeking through
Iron Pass beyond – I rode through that 4 years ago on a previous trip
Cluckata Ridge
Panorama roughly NW from Battlement Ridge towards Tsylos, RCAF, and the Yohetta – Tchaikazan
Tosh, Cluckata, Grant looking E from Battlement
We go down
Weather chases our ass back down. Almost all the way down is rideable
A wee fire to dry things out always helps morale
