Day 3 – Tour of Zone 4 and 5
Day 1 and 2 || Day 3 || Day 4 and 5 || Day 6 and 7
Today we opted for a big tour to check out the north face of Mt Fosthall. Unfortunately the winds reaked havoc on the Alpine making the best snow in the trees. We did have a good run from Cirque Lake to Peters Lake and crossed a hiking trail that is in Monashee Provincial Park. We then had a long meadow tour, just less then 5km back towards Margie Lake, up Ned Zone and Lodge Notch for an easy ski back to Sol Mountain Lodge.
We stayed high to traverse to Cariboo Pass, it might be better to traverse lower and gain the pass via the ridge when the pink dotted hiking trail is. The area around Margie Lake looks awesome but alas was also destroyed by the wind. It is a good tour despite the -18oC temps and windslab.
