I had an Aikido Seminar in Halifax at White Point Beach Resort so we decided to have an extented vacation to check out the fall colours of Eastern Canada. We were not dissapointed!

We flew into Toronto, Stayed with a friend in Haliburton Ontario, drove to Ottawa, Montreal, through New Brunswich, visited another friend in Wentworth Nova Scotia before heading to Liverpool, Nova Scotia. The seminar was in White Point Beach Resort. After the seminar we continued exploring the west and north coast of Nova Scotia before flying out of Halifax. 4300km of driving!

Part 2

Hike at Lac Solitaire in Parc National de la Mauricie, drive through New Brunswich to see Crabbe Mountain! Saint John and the Reversing falls Hike at Irving Nature Park.

The Saint John river is impressive. Reversing Falls Is worth seeing both at high and low tides, up and downstream of the bridge. The tidal bore in Moncton wasn’t as impressive but apparently it can be. Better at a full moon. These two events are created by the Tides of the Bay of Fundy and their interaction with the rivers.

Here we realized that New Brunswich is essentially owned by the Irving Family. Big empoyers and land owners in New Brunswich. Also one of the largers land holders in Maine.

Saint John, New Brunswick

I was actually impressed with Saint John. We stayed at the Holiday Inn, checked out the Reversing falls, where the Saint John river and Bay of Fundy tides duke it out twice a day and did a hike at the Irving Nature Park.
