Vernon Fall 2025
September is a good time to go camp in one of our favorite campgrounds – Ellison Provincial Park – and ride some Vernon classics. It also provides a great opportunity to ride other areas along the way we don’t often get to.
Trailforks ride Logs of the trip
This trip we drove straight to Ellison and did an afternoon ride around the golf course. The next two days we drove to the plateau above Kal Park where you would drive to shuttle and did a couple of loops. North Okanagan Cycling Society – NOCS has created a nice trail system up here with great views! and probably for when it’s too hot to ride the lower trails. The first ride we did was the Crown Loop – a good representation of the new trails in this area. The second ride included Super Connected, a techy descent with a pretty big rock face that allowed us to continue down to Be Kind and Flovid and do the Upper Stone Free and Pali Gap climb back to the car. This had us avoid the more popular lower trails in the area.
We left Vernon and camped at Harmon Lakes to ride Merritt. We rode the TMI Climb trail to Godey trail, a classic techy Merritt descent. We finished our trip riding Vedder which is always a worthy stop.
