#1, Everest (dark pyramid left of center) viewed from Kala Pattar, a 5600m viewpoint. Many people ask me, how do you get here ? Fly to Katmandu, take another short flight to Lukla then a minimum 7 day walk to reach this view. Bring a warm sleeping bag, good shoes and lots of energy. The 22 days I spent wandering about the Everest Region was one of the top highlights of my trip. Nepal (10/99).

#2, K2 - Pakistan

No Photo

I climbed for 3 days for a view of it but it was cloudy that day. Damned !!!

#3, Kanchenjunga looms over Darjeeling from Tiger Hill, India (11/2005).

#4, Lhotse during sunset from the comforts my room window. Good thing too, its way too cold outside even for a view this good. Lhotse's immense south wall is still unclimbed. Village of Dingboche, Everest Trek, Nepal (10/99)

#5, Makalu's west face from Chhukung Ri summit. Everest Trek, Nepal (10/99)

#6, Cho Oyu on the Nepal/Tibet border seen from Gokyo Ri (5450m). Everest Trek, Nepal (10/99)

#7, Dhaulagiri from Poon Hill. Annapurna Trek, Nepal (11/99)

#8, Manaslu from Manang, Annapurna (11/99).

#9, Nanga Parbat from the Indus River Valley at 1300m. This vantage point provides a 6800m vertical difference, the largest you can observe anywhere. Karakoram Highway, Pakistan (9/99)

#10, Annapurna I. This was the first 8000m peak to be climbed (1950) but the towering south face in this picture was only scaled 25 years later. Annapurna Base Camp, Nepal (12/99)
