We are a close family and do lots of stuff together. The 3 of us skip class for a few days to go skiing in Utah.  Snowbird (3/91).

Skiing together 10 years later and I'm still wearing the same ski pants. Its pretty faded after over 300 ski days.  Whistler (3/01).

Catching some air on an unmarked run in Blackcomb Bowl. I was a ski-bum that winter and notched 102 days, so I got pretty good at it. I have been to many ski hills all over the continent but still think Whistler is the best by far.  Whistler, BC (2/96).

Family ski outing.  Lake Louise, Alberta (12/91).

Overlooking Blackcomb's 7th Heaven.  Whistler (1/96).

Living in Vancouver, the mountains are right at my doorstep. This hike is a 90 minute drive from home, how lucky can you be ? Tantalus Range from Garibaldi Lake (8/98).

My vote for the best hike in the Vancouver area, Garibaldi Lake (8/98).

Rob and I on Panorama Ridge, high above Garibaldi Lake (8/98).

Canoeing for the first time. Steve is being very patient with my J-stroke.  Whistler (9/98).

I have seen a lot of places and I still think Vancouver is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. I couldn't imagine living anywhere else. North Vancouver (1/99).

Stanley Park, Vancouver (2/99).

Vancouver Public Library building (2/99).

Weekend get together with friends. From the left : Pascal with baby Kainoa, May, Sonya, Dave, Fred, Chilly and me.  Bowen Island (2/01).

Riding with my big brother. He really thinks he is some "biking god".  Flank Trail, Whistler (6/01).

My brother and I going mountain biking. Cool jerseys, eh ? On the Sunshine Coast ferry (5/01).

Everytime I go riding with my brother and gang, I almost get myself killed. Riding some crazy trails near Gibsons, Sunshine Coast (5/01).

Ferry wake. Sunshine Coast (5/01).

ZZZZZZZZZZ.......Bowen Island (7/01).

Balsam Lake, Mt Revelstoke National Park (8/01).

Who says there is no good beaches in Canada ? All you need is a lot of good wetsuits and really like playing in 8 C waters. A multi-sport day at Chesterman's Beach.  Steve is boogie-boarding, my brother is kayaking and I am surfing.  A clear winter's day in Tofino, west coast of Vancouver Island  (10/01).

Kicking Horse Resort, the biggest and newest ski area development since Blackcomb in 1980. There were 30 cars in the parking lot and the liftee was complaining that it was a busy day.  Beginners...stay clear !!!...this immense place has over 1200m vertical of mostly gnarly and hard-core runs.  Summit of Kicking Horse, Golden (12/01).

Brilliant powder day at Big White, Interior BC (12/01).

POWDER !!!!!  Big White (12/01).

Big White (12/01).

Sun Peaks (01/02).

This log was so slippery I can't believe I didn't fall and break my neck. Juan de Fuca Marine trail, west coast of Vancouver Island (4/02).

Coastal hiking trails like the Juan de Fuca are a real mess after the heavy winter rains.  For 3 days, we were cold and wet and all we saw was mud, slippery roots and crap...but it was still fun to be outdoors exploring the beautiful coast (4/02).

Family "cottage" at Whistler courtesy of my brother (5/02).

Taking advantage of the soft spring snow to cushion the landing, Whistler Mountain (5/02).

I am always looking for amazing places to set-up camp.  This beautiful grassy meadow on the top of 2200m high Panorama Ridge is my best spot yet.  Garibaldi Park (8/02).

One of the most spectacular mountain views I have ever seen is right here in BC.  Summit of Panorama Ridge, Garibaldi Park (8/02).

Alpenglow from Panorama Ridge overlooking Garibaldi Lake (8/02).

Burnt Stew Lake on the Musical Bumps trail.  Whistler Mountain (9/02).

Ever wondered what its like to ski in bottom-less powder.  I found out on Christmas Day 2002, the most wicked, sick powder day imaginable. I emailed this screenshot to all my friends the next day...boy, were they pissed !! 99 cm at Whistler-Blackcomb (12/2002).

Burnt Stew Basin, Whistler Mountain (2/03).

Anyone who has ridden the Taylor Pass High Route to Spruce Lake will agree on one thing, its the most spectacular mountain bike trip they've ever been on.  This 8 hour expedition style ride journeys takes over 45 km and tops out at ~2200m, winding its way through one of the most beautiful places in all of BC, the Southern Chilcotin mountains north of Gold Bridge (10/03).

Half of this smooth non-technical single-track is above the tree-line.  I almost wiped out many times sightseeing instead of keeping my eyes on the trail.  Climbing towards Taylor Pass.

We left it really late in the year to do this bike trip but lucked out with a gorgeous fall day.  No mossy's, cool crisp days, a dry trail and terrific fall colours all around.

Taking a break at Windy Pass, 2200m.  Southern Chilcotin range  (10/03).

Big Bar Lake, Central BC (7/2005).

View of the Gulf Islands from Mt. Galiano. Galiano Island (8/2005).

Starfishes at low tide. Galiano Island (8/2005).

You will be surprised how much wildlife you will find on the gulf islands if you turn over a few rocks or dig about the bushes.

The bath tub. Galiano Island (8/2005).
