June – July 2022
BC Road trip for Aikido and Some Riding.
After a Covid break Aikido seminars were back on! I went to a Calgary Seminar on June 25th and 26th, followed by an Okanagan Seminar in Kelowna July 1st and 2nd.
On our way out we camped at Waitabit Creek Campground. Nice spot just off Donald before Golden. Lots of Rec Campsites here. Very busy being close to Golden. We then went to Calgary, stopping for lunch at One98Eight in Deadman Flats, where we stayed at the Sandman Hotel and Suites Calgary South while I practiced Aikido.
After Aikido we went to Kananaskis Country to camp and ride. We camped at Mclean Creek Campground, Site B46. Last time we stayed here we were in A loop.
We rode with Jim (Calgary) and Greg (Canmore), who joined us at the campsite to check out the new stuff on Moose Mt.. Day 2 Dave ( Calgary ) joined us for a longer ride on some really fun trails on the other side of Moose Mt. We had some Thunder storms this night and the weather was unsettled the next day. Forturnatly we were heading to Vernon to ride Kal Park and Rose Valley Reservoir. We camped at Ellison Provincial Park Campground and since it was just before the Canada Day long weekend it was VERY busy. We drove around and found Site 25 which was available for ONE night! We had to move the next night to another site that was good for ONE night! So if you want to stay here and its busy its still worth checking out as sites can be available. We then drove to Kelowna for my Aikido seminar. We stayed at the Siesta Suites, which had a kitchen, so no Denny’s as we ate at the Sandman. Much better. It also had a pool.
