Central Washington – Wenatchee Okanogan September 2024
Day 4, 5 and 6
After Xanadu we headed to an area near Twisp off Loup Loup ski area to check out a new network that’s being developed in their XC Ski area. Fun trails, higher elevation so it was colder. Fun trails and worth the stop. We rode the Bear Essentials Loop.
Since we weren’t ready for the cold yet, we moved to another campsite closer to the quaint town of Winthrop. The Big Twin Lake Resort is nice, hot showers, crappy wifi, nice Lake.
We rode Thompson Ridge off Sun Mountain. Buck Mountain is another XC Ride worth checking out.
Our last day we drove Cascade Hwy 20 and stopped at Darrington for one shuttle with Thad. Great trails, would be best to shuttle with a dedicated driver. You could camp off the shuttle road here as well.
