Selkirk Tangiers Heli Touring and Revelstoke Mountain Resort
Our friends Carl and Mike were heading to BC as they do to take advantage of our amazing skiing! Even this year. Revelstoke usually delivers when the rest of the province warms. This week was no exception. This trip Carl wanted to do Heli Assisted ski touring with Selkirk Tangiers. We figured why not! We booked a week at Coast Hillcrest, where Selkirk Tangiers hosts and it’s a great hotel with awesome breakfasts and dinners. We spent our first day with Joey Vosburgh, split and snowboarder extraordinaire, we flew into Greely zone and had the area to ourselves! Not easy to do in Revelstoke anymore. The weather turned blustery and the heli’s couldn’t fly so our second day was cancelled. Next time we’ll go in March or April. You can also do this with fairly short notice as all Selkirk Tangiers provides is one lift in and out and a guide. So it’s often easy to accommodate.
While we were only able to do one day of touring conditions at Revelstoke Mountain Resort provided enough pow to fill the rest of our days. We also did one day of touring up the Fingers. Carl and Mike spent their time pounding out North Bowl Laps!

Booked a King Room this time so we’d have more space.

A la carte or buffet breakfasts at Coast Hillcrest. Yum.

Joey chatting about the day.

Transceiver training. Mandatory for everyone.

Heli briefing with Andy, our pilot.
I think we can trust him!

Pow Run!

Dinner at Begbie Brewery. Very worthy and great beer!
Our last day of skiing we went to the Fingers. Rogers Pass experience Climax Avalanches in non-controlled areas so we didn’t want to go there. Fingers did have some debris and the lower section was sporty.

Well groomed XC trails.

Follow the signs in the XC area to get out to the Fingers.
